2017-2018

Back to the beginning.

Back in 2017, our founders Alex, Owen and Jack created UK Fulfilment Service (UFS), a 3PL born from their own challenges within eCommerce logistics. Initially running high-volume online stores on eBay and Amazon, they found that logistics, though an integral part of the fulfilment journey, was often neglected. An industry lacking innovation and care. Determined to change the world of eCommerce fulfilment, they combined their expertise and vision to design a more efficient, customer-focused solution for like-minded business owners. Within months they launched UFS, boasting a strong name, website and registered company. Setting out on their mission to transform post-purchase operations and bring passion and innovation back into logistics. 

2019

Securing our first warehouse.

With sheer determination and persistence, we had outgrown the existing setup resulting in the need for a new, much larger location. Armed with the knowledge that we wanted to stick to our roots, we began looking for a warehousing space within Derbyshire. After securing a unit, the we borrowed a transit van and worked tirelessly to complete the process of upscaling our operation. Countless 5am starts and over forty trips later, we finally had our first official home.

2019-2020

Navigating a global pandemic.

By the end of 2019, we had grown both internally and externally. But, the imminent arrival of the global pandemic brought new challenges. As Covid-19 rapidly reshaped customer shopping habits, we found ourselves at the centre of an eCommerce storm that tested our resilience and determination. During this pivotal time another, more personal event unfolded. A lengthy legal battle resulting in the company cutting all ties with the name ‘UFS.’ This marked the beginning of a full rebrand, steering our business in a bold new direction and laying the foundations for our next chapter.

2020

Staying true to our roots.

Whilst navigating the beginning of the pandemic we were approached by external investors offering an opportunity to accelerate our growth. However, we knew that it wasn’t the right time to accept such an offer. In the wake of this we decided to double down and instead continue to expand the team looking for like-minded specialists that would take the business from strength to strength. This was the best decision for us, and despite the challenges faced by the pandemic, we continued to grow, and some exciting clients were added to the books.

2021-2022

Expanding our service offering.

In the years following the pandemic, we were navigating which direction to take the business’ rebrand. Facing the unusual situation of bringing in new clients, but not showcasing the brand in the best light was a challenging time. For UFS the brand was the personality, and we were determined to showcase it in the best light possible. That being said, we transformed this period of uncertainty into a time for positive change, expanding the service offering, improving efficiencies and securing ISO accreditations in both continuity and security (ISO:9001/ ISO:27001).

2022

Getting ready for peak.

Peak season is the ultimate test in logistics, both demanding and rewarding. As peak period 2022  fast approached we wanted to ensure that we were ready for whatever was thrown our way. We began hiring once more, and our team of like-minded experts made the entire season go off without a hitch. Dispatching thousands of parcels seamlessly demonstrated the hard work and effort which the team have, and continue to put in including the commitment to increasing service offerings and the investment into operational planning.

2023

The launch of SCEND.

In September of 2023 we, now operating as SCEND, launched our brand new website along with a brand new set of values which placed both our customers and our customers’ customers at the very heart of the operation! But this was just the beginning, more than just a new face, SCEND embodied everything that Alex, Owen and Jack stood for and brought years of hard work and dedication to life. After the launch of SCEND, we continued to grow the brand and took on some well-known and well-respected clients in the likes of Loop Earplugs, The Fox Tan, Kinnerton UK, The Sauce Shop and so many more.

2024

We are moving.

Following an extremely successful launch of our brand, we continued with our period of growth which ultimately ended with another warehouse move. But this time on a much bigger scale. The team worked tirelessly to complete this task, ensuring that no client experienced even a minute of downtime. This warehouse move and its success was a testament to the whole team at SCEND and the clients got to experience the unparalleled dedication to customer service, fast, reliable fulfilment and their continued commitment to our set of unwavering company values.

2025

Getting a B Corp certifaction.

In 2025, we have gone from strength to strength. Realising new goals and reaching new heights.  After years of hard work and an un-matched dedication to achievements the team saw their hard work pay off with a recognition from B Corp UK. We were granted the designation of being a B Corp Certified business which amplified and congratulated us on the constant dedication to positive environmental practices, commitment to the welfare of our workforce and a passion for the community in which we reside. This was an amazing achievement for our entire team and marked the beginning of even greater things and a brand new chapter in the SCEND story.
